ICD #1

Hello everyone. WELCOME... to International Communication Day.  Are you as EXCITED about today's event as I am? I am REALLY happy to be here.

We are pleased to welcome you:--guest teachers, staff, and students-- to I --  C --- D --- . We feel HONOURED that you have given up your time to BE HERE today at Hotel MuiraKaen in Takikawa
.

Sougoukyou Students! Please take time to get to know your group leader! We feel this year's program will be the BEST ever. MAKE THE MOST of this opportunity to practice your English skills!

As you know, ICD is a yearly event.  We have had a great variety of speakers over the years, all giving us something to  think about. This event really contributes to our program at Kokugakuin.  OK,  Joke!

We are very happy to welcome our main speaker, Simon Thollar.  He is a Professor, in the Department of Systems & Informatics, at Hokkaido Information University.

Let me say a few words about him.

He is from Tasmania,  Australia but has been a teacher in Japan from many years.

He is an EXPERT in English Pronunciation, Education Systems, e-Learning, and Motivation.

At university he majored in MATHEMATICS and JAPanese.  SIMON has many interesting hobbies: he has managed his own BAR, PLAYS very GOOD acoustic guitar, does Kempo, sport cars, and he loves Okinawa!

he also believes strongly in LEARNING FOR LIFE, and MAKE LEARNING FUN!  So Simon,  welcome again!
